Created in 2025, The Godfather Pixel Remix transforms one of the most iconic images in cinema history into a meticulously constructed mosaic of physical pixels. Based on the legendary portrait of Don Vito Corleone, portrayed by Marlon Brando in Francis Ford Coppola’s masterpiece, the work explores the enduring power of cultural images and their ability to transcend generations, technologies, and media.

Produced using 3,600 Venetian glass tesserae measuring 1 × 1 cm each, the piece represents a return to the artist’s high-resolution mosaic practice. The miniature scale allows for exceptional tonal precision, recreating the dramatic shadows and subtle transitions that define the visual language of classic cinema.

More than a portrait, the work examines the transformation of images through time. Originally captured through photography, reproduced through film, television, print, and digital screens, Corleone’s face is reconstructed here through one of humanity’s oldest image-making techniques. The result is a dialogue between ancient craftsmanship and contemporary pixel culture.
