PixelArt’s practice investigates the circulation and occupation of contemporary visual culture

Combining venetian mosaic traditions with urban interventions and digital systems,
the artist’s work constructs a dialogue between symbolic appropriation,
algorithmic culture and material permanence.

The pixel operates simultaneously as information, memory and visual territory

FIELD INDEX

Research Fields

Additional bodies of work exploring perception, censorship, urban reproduction systems and light-responsive image structures. These experimental fields expand PixelArt’s investigation into how digital imagery can be fragmented, transferred and materially reconstructed through physical processes.

SYS-04 / Visibility systems and mediated desire

AUTOCENSORSHIP SYSTEMS

Using pixelation and mosaic structures as mechanisms of concealment, the series investigates voyeurism, censorship and mediated visibility. Distance, proximity and screen-based perception become active components within images that oscillate between exposure and disappearance.

SYS-05 / Fragmented stencil systems for urban image transfer

URBAN TRANSFER SYSTEMS

Developed through layered stencil fragmentation and mechanical cutting systems, the series explores the transfer of digital imagery into urban surfaces. Combining aerosol painting, registration systems and automated cutting processes, the works reconstruct unstable pixel structures through physical repetition.

SYS-06 / Light-activated pixel structures and optical presence

LATENT IMAGES

Constructed through thousands of precision incisions on paper surfaces, the series transforms each pixel into a physical shadow structure. Activated by light and viewing angle, the works generate unstable images oscillating between visibility, absence and spatial perception.
