A work situated at the intersection of portraiture, abstraction, and political symbolism. In PPP, the recognizable face of Vladimir Putin emerges from a field of digital interference, where fragments of information, visual noise, and pixel disruption compete with the image itself.

Constructed pixel by pixel using hand-placed Venetian glass tesserae, the piece continues the artist’s exploration of glitch aesthetics while introducing a more direct dialogue with contemporary power structures. Rather than presenting a traditional portrait, the work depicts a figure partially consumed by distortion, suggesting the instability of perception in an age dominated by media manipulation, propaganda, and fragmented information.

The composition marks an important moment in the artist’s evolution. Previous works often separated abstraction from representation; here both languages coexist within the same image. The glitch is no longer a background element—it becomes part of the portrait’s anatomy.

A second conceptual layer is hidden within the piece itself. The letters PPP, positioned at the base of the composition, transform into 666 when the artwork is rotated upside down. This simple physical gesture alters the meaning of the image and invites the viewer to question the symbolic systems through which authority, ideology, and public figures are interpreted.

The work exemplifies one of the recurring themes throughout the artist’s practice: the idea that images contain multiple readings depending on distance, context, and perspective. What first appears as a portrait gradually reveals itself as a meditation on information, power, and visual decoding.

Part of a limited edition, the original work has entered a private collection while additional artist-authorized editions remain available by commission.
