Limited Edition of 5 · International Collections
A pivotal work in the evolution of the artist’s practice, Marilyn Pixel Remix 2 marks the moment when the worlds of urban intervention and collectible studio work fully converge.
Originally developed from one of the artist’s most recognized street mosaics, this larger 80 × 80 cm version was created in response to a growing demand from collectors seeking to bring the energy of public artworks into interior spaces. What began as an urban intervention evolved into a new model of artistic production, where the street became a source for limited-edition works conceived specifically for private collections.
Constructed pixel by pixel using Venetian glass tesserae, the piece expands upon the visual language of the original version, allowing for greater chromatic depth and a richer interpretation of one of the most iconic figures in popular culture. Marilyn Monroe appears simultaneously as a Hollywood legend, a Pop Art symbol, and a digital image reconstructed through the material permanence of mosaic.
The work also pays tribute to the legacy of Andy Warhol and the tradition of image reproduction within contemporary art. However, unlike mechanical repetition, each mosaic is individually executed by the artist, transforming seriality into a handcrafted process of precision, time, and material presence.
Looking back, this series represents a turning point in the artist’s career. It revealed that his urban works could successfully transition into collectible editions and laid the foundation for the ecosystem that would later evolve into Gallery PX, where street art, studio production, exhibitions, and collecting became part of a single continuous practice.
