A vibrant exploration of rhythm, movement, and geometric perception. Created during the artist’s investigation into kinetic visual systems, Fiesta transforms simple geometric structures into an energetic field of optical vibration.

Constructed pixel by pixel using individually placed Venetian glass tesserae, the work builds upon the historical principles of kinetic art while deliberately expanding beyond its traditional formulas. Fragmented circles, intersecting trajectories, and shifting color relationships generate a visual choreography that appears to bounce, rotate, and reorganize itself as the viewer moves through space.

Rather than relying on a single repetitive optical device, Fiesta introduces multiple simultaneous movements across the composition. The result is a more dynamic and unpredictable visual experience where geometry becomes expressive rather than merely mathematical.

Created shortly after Fondo Marino, this work belongs to a significant period in the artist’s evolution when abstraction became a laboratory for investigating perception itself. Digital design serves as the blueprint, while the physical mosaic translates virtual structures into a permanent architectural surface.

The title reflects the spirit of the composition: an explosion of color, rhythm, and visual interaction where every fragment participates in a larger celebration of movement.

As with other works from this kinetic research period, Fiesta was conceived as a unique artwork, not as part of an edition.
